Welcome to
the new
section, with all our news:
November
2006:- Hard to believe that last month
was so warm - now it almost feels like autumn, and it's only November!
- Better Start Here was at the
iCount event
in Trafalgar Square on the 4th of this month - if you were
there you may have seen us and if you weren't there, it's not too late
to take action - you can visit their
website now and sign-up to
do your bit to counter climate change (P.S. can you spot us
in the
photos
?).
- This
month sees the launch of the Beta Version of The Ethical Writer, a new set of
writing services specifically tailored to the needs of organisations
involved in ethical and environmental projects - if that's you please
take a look, we'd really value your feedback!
October
2006:- Here we are in
another month - only 3 months till Xmas and it's already the warmest
October on record; can you believe that there are still so-called
'experts' who deny that there is any such thing as global warming?
Worse still, a recent survey suggests that 50% of people don't see any
link between the way they live their lives and global warming -
depressing innit?
- Hey-ho, on with business - as
usual this month there will be a new Creative Match article coming
soon. Incase you're wondering if anyone ever reads these articles, last
month's article
has so far been read a total of 153 times and
Part One
of the article has been read 295 times - by no means the record but not
bad we hope you'll agree.
- I'm reliably informed that a
new entry of the Writer's Blog
is in the offing, so if you really have nothing better to do...
- We're
starting a Link Swap scheme this month, so if you'd like to see your
organisation listed in our directory just drop us an email and we'll
see what we can do;
- STOP PRESS: We've
just heard that the fundraising campaign for The Children's
Research Campaign that we took part in earlier this year has raised a
staggering £110,000! Part of the proceeds will be used to
send a
group of sick and disabled children to Lapland for a Xmas they'll never
forget.
September
2006:- It can't be September already
can it? It still feels like summer!
- This month we'll be
publishing Part 2 of last month's
Creative Match
article,
- You can also read more
ridiculous
ramblings in the Writer's Blog;
- As part of the ongoing
updates to the site we have now added an archive
to The Word of the Week section,
a selection of current
articles and a Site
Map
(not very interesting, it's mainly there to help
web-bots
crawl the
site). There are also numerous (mainly invisible) changes behind the
scenes that we hope will bring lots of new visitors to the site.
- Here's an update on the
Biodiversity Project for wildlife fans: we continue to be visited by a
selection of finches, tits and, of course, our resident sparrows.
Unfortunately for the solitary bee that laid its eggs in our bug box
last month, the blue tits soon found this source of tasty snacks,
however another tube has now been filled so fingers crossed.
August
2006:- This month sees the launch
of our new 'Writer's Blog'
- ever wanted to know what a writer does all day? Well here's your
chance to find out!
- We've added a
new article to
Creative Match this month that seems to be causing some controversy -
it's the subject of their 'Watercooler Vote' this month so why not
check it out and then have your say?
- Things
are going well with the Biodiversity Project and the BSH garden is
blooming! Notable visitors this
month include blue tits, great tits, a family of green finches and a
solitary bee that has already laid eggs in one of our bug boxes!
July 2006:- With
the holiday season upon us it's all long cool drinks and deckchairs
here at BSH Towers this month but we have managed to put together a new
article for Creative Match which is due out next week.
- We've also
signed-up for the Business and Biodiversity Project (a partnership of Kent
County Council, English Nature, SEEDA, Kent Sustainable Business
Partnership & Ashford's Future) putting-up nesting
boxes and feeding stations and learning what we as a business can do to
increase biodiversity in our area.
- Meanwhile
in the background we're busy making improvements to the site
and
plans are afoot to add a new section specialising in ethical business -
we'll update you soon.
June 2006:So what's happening in June?
- once
again we are writing for computerweekly.com's
Open Source Channel (just look for the penguin);
- our latest
article for Creative
Match is generating a lot of interest (this article also
appears on Google News);
- the
new sports information website that we worked on last month is now
live; checkout Sports
Scores Abroad
;
- we
are currently discussing a number of new projects this month, including
a series
of articles on desktop computing and a campaign to promote bio-fuels;
- so here's
to a busy June (a bit more sun wouldn't hurt either!) - oh, and
don't forget to check out the latest gossip at Earth
View.
May 2006:
May
was a busy month here at BSH:
- we
continued to add weekly news articles to computerweekly.com's
Open Source Channel;
- we added
yet another new article to Creative Match's
'Creative
and Opinionated' section;
- we had
an article on digital radio and television published on the
new
Holistic
Local
site;
- we provided
research and marketing services for an exciting new sports website -
hope to
bring you more on that soon!
