Proofreading
If
you've got copy that you're planning to publish then you really need to have it proofread. It's amazing the number of companys, including some very high-profile ones, that don't proofread their communications properly and publish them with spelling mistakes, bad grammar, missing words or incorrect prices - there are so many things that can go wrong that it's really not worth taking a chance.
Mistakes can happen when there are several people working on the same document, when you update one part of your website without realising that you are contridicting another, when you are working to deadlines and just don't have time to check...the list goes on and on.
Proofreading is your best protection against mistakes; a good proofreader will often pick-up far more than just spelling mistakes, saving you the cost and embarrassment of errors going public.
Remember, if it's wrong and its got your name on it, it's you that looks bad.
(Did you spot the errors above? Sorry but "proofreading" doesn't count - it can be one or two words - complicated isn't it?)
